The Challenge: Basketball Head Hoops STEM Activity

Students will design a wearable basketball hoop that allows their partner to shoot mini basketballs (pom-poms) into the hoop. The goal is to score as many points as possible.

STEM Activity Criteria:

✔ The hoop must not be larger than a roll of tape.
✔ The shooter must stand on the opposite long side of the table.
✔ The basket wearer must remain seated. ✔ Only one basketball (pom-pom) can be shot at a time. ✔ Students may use glasses and hairbands in their design. ✔ All teams will be tested simultaneously for 30 seconds.
